This is what I've been waiting for...

I started building my mame cabinet a while back, it maybe isn't complete, but it is close enough for now.  anyway, i named it Zak-Man after my 11 month old son, Zakary.  He and I were hanging out in the basement the other day, and he seemed drawn to the arcade cabinet.  so naturally i booted it up, put him on the stool and let him have some fun.  He clearly isn't old enough to really understand what's going on, but he has a great time with it.  And every time he is in the basement, he wants to go play it.  We must have spent 20 minutes the other night just inserting tokens into the coin slots.  I was looking through some pics we took the other night and I found these and I just had to share.  This is Zak playing pacman. I actually modified the pacman rom to rename it to ZakMan, and I renamed the ghosts after my wife, myself, and our two cats...Roger and Joey.

i can't wait until he is old enough to actually play these games.   It is just so awesome to see how excited he gets moving the joystick all around.

when my son was younger, he loved putting the coins in too. he'd sit down with a cup full of tokens and go to town. believe me it doesn't take long for that to turn into an arcade crazed kid. Mine is almost 6 now and has been starting to beat me at some games i'm ashamed to admit.
