Arcade Depot (US)
« on: February 05, 2008, 02:58:55 pm »
For the past few months, I've been working on some plans for a cocktail project with Scott from Arcade Depot.  Everything was going great until last month... he stopped writing back, out of the blue, and still will not reply to my emails.  I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about Arcade Depot... are they still in business?  It's like he just dropped off the face of the earth since the beginning of January.  Hope everything is ok.  We were sooo close to the project finish line!  Maybe he is on vacation?  He was such a great guy to talk to and work with, it is just really strange to not hear anything.

If anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.  I hate not knowing what is going on for so long.

Thanks...

Patrick

I just got my cab from Scott last week, and it looks great!  I do know that they've been having server troubles over the last couple months, it's likely that he never received your emails.  Try again, they are definitely still around.

And trust me, you won't be disappointed with their work.  I've been assembling mine over the last few days and it really looks and feels like a solid piece of furniture, just like a real cab should.

Good luck!

I built a cocktail cab a couple of years ago using the kit, quality stuff and handy to put together. I second the comments on Scott, guys a gentleman.

Here's mine, I snapped a photo on my phone this morning before I went to work.  As you can see it's very early on, and I'm still waiting on the glass to come in, but I think it's shaping up quite nice.  I will probably go with the plain oak top in leiu of a graphic overlay, I just like the way the wood looks.

Wow... both cabs are truly awesome!  They sure do some nice work.

As a follow up, today I got a reply from Dana, who is filling in for Scott at the moment.  She said Scott has been away due to family emergency, but that the draftsmen were still working on my project and will have something to show me tomorrow!

So, it turns out that I just jumped to conclusions, as usual... hehe.

I cannot wait to see what they have in store.  The last design Scott gave me was in 3D, and it was completely uber cool.

Well guys, thanks for sharing your photos!  I will admit that my cocktail fever was really low this month since not hearing anything from Arcade Depot, but now, after seeing yours, the passion has been rekindled.   Will post some screenshots of the 3D plans once I get them... its gonna be coool!

And please send some positive thoughts towards Scott, as he and his family could really use some at the moment.

Cheers,
Patrick
