I start a thread, some fool comes in and starts making an ass out of himself and I call him an ass a few times, but it was obvious he was being an ass and my thread gets sent to post hell, why? I look around and guys are calling each other all kinds of names left and right all over the place, then I call a guy an ass and all hell breaks loose.

Me posting has almost become a place for asses to come into and show how much of an ass they can be in a thread of mine, the only thing is when I call them on it I'm the bad guy. If Saint wants me out of here then he needs to just do it, judging by his actions...

Don't delete my thread and then hide from my pm, answer me or get me the hell out of here. Be a man, not a mouse, saint.

I'm ready to get out of here and want my account deleted if my thread about another driving problem does not come back, delete my account. I tried to but it won't work without an admin.  Do it, I'm tired of the double standard and how people get treated here based on a rep some people have in their mind about others. But some can't act on it while some can.

There are a lot of foolish people here who think they have it all working for them, it will be a sad awakening for them in life when the hit the bottom.

Delete me. This is not a place I want to be anymore.

You'll have to forgive me if it takes me 2 whole hours to read and respond to a PM from you. I seem to have misplaced the cybernetic chip in my head that keeps me online 24 hours a day. In between deleting the thread and this response, I ....

- Got stuff ready for my kids for school tomorrow
- Fed the cats
- Worked on a few computer issues
- Treadmilled
- Went potty

All of which seemed to me to be a good use of my personal time.

I didn't delete the thread because you called someone an ass. Frankly I didn't think you were to blame for that thread going south at all. However, the thread did go south, rapidly, and had no value.

If a thread has some value to the site, i.e. it's related to something near and dear to the site's visitors, then I'll make an effort to moderate it if it needs it.

If a thread is simply fluff, and it goes south, I'll just nuke it. My time's more valuable (see the aforementioned kids, cats, and commodes)  to me than to spend it trying to revive a thread that isn't something the site's going to miss. I don't mind the fluff threads, and have posted my share, but it wasn't critical by any means.

I don't respond to ultimatums - the thread's not coming back though you're welcome to try it again if you'd like. If you still want your account deleted tomorrow I'll oblige you.

Account deletions here must be approved by an admin. It's easier for us than re-instating people, gives a kind of built-in cooling off period.

At any rate, Tommy you do not have a delete request pending so I cannot approve it. If you wish to delete you must initiate it first.

I don't know if he will leave or go, but I have to say this public whining thread is a little pathetic. It was a pointless EE thread. If it goes the PH way, then so be it. Get over it! There's no need to act like a 1st grader by crying and going home.

I'll say this though, I personally promise to "play nice" if you do decide to come back. I can't speak for anyone else though.

Not that Saint needs defending but some times it is easier to delete a thread than to move it. Also the delete and move thread Icons in SMF are really close to each other. I've been guilty of deleting a thread instead of moving and for some reason this action pisses people off despite it being a result of being lazy or apathetic.

I have to agree that this thread though is pathetic. Nobody is holding a gun to anyones head to stay or leave. Tommy pretend your a grown up and either stay or go, but no need to whine.

I didn't see this specific thread, but you often start with some flame bait/troll post and then act surprised when a flame war follows. The thread then gets removed and rightly so.

Look at the Need for speed thread. No one is trying to attack you there. People are not "after you".
