Help! ipac4 "1coin" input not working.
« on: January 27, 2008, 10:55:25 pm »
Hi,

I am in the final stages of building my CP and I now realize that my 1coin input on my ipac4 (ps2 version) is not working at all.  I've connected a button to it (microswitch) and it does not seem to work when connected to that input on the ipac4.  I've connected the same button to the 2coin input, 3coin input, etc and it seems to work fine, so it's not the button or the microswitch itself.  I'm thinking that the 1coin input is faulty.

It's been suggested that I "reprogram" the ipac4.  Do you think this will solve the problem?  I'm at work now and I should be leaving shortly so I can't try this until I get home later tonight, but I'd thought I'd ask before I go through all the trouble.

Thoughts?

Yes.  I would just choose an input you don't use and tell it to make that "5."  The input labels on the ipac are really just for ease of use.

It'll work just fine if you use another input.

Yeah, I thought of that.  I need to have it up and running by the Superbowl party I am having.  That will work for the short term, but I can exchange it for one that works if need be.

My question is if anyone has heard of the re-programming function fixing this problem.

Thanks!

Once in a while my P1 Start button (1 key) does not work, I simply open up winipac and click program and it reprograms and it works fine.. Thats on a jpac but on my ipac-4 I have had similar issues with a couple keys and its the same results. So I would say Yes try clicking program in winipac, I mean if it doesnt fix it its certainly not going to hurt anything...

Well, I gave it a shot and it looks like it is indeed the ipac4 board.   :hissy:  It must be defective.  I will order it today and hopefully it will get to me by Thursday.  Then I can send the other one back when I get it.  If it doesn't arrive in time, I can remap the coin button on the defective unit temporarily for my Superbowl Sunday party.   :-\
