WTB: Dell Dimension 8400 Motherboard
« on: January 25, 2008, 11:12:07 am »
I know it is a long shot but I really need one of these motherboards. Not sure if there were different versions used in the 8400 but if anyone needs anymore info let me know.

You should open her up and check the model number on the motherboard to confirm what exactly you have if you are looking for a direct replacement.

There are (3) on Epay right now for < $30.....search Dell 8400 Motherboard.

Or figure out what socket the RAM and CPU are and then just do a swap that way... Dell uses standard ATX Motherboards so no worries in that field!

Yeah, I already checked ebay. The one I bid on ended up going for like $65.00. Every one I saw ranged from $60.00 to $75.00.
and I was hoping to spend less then that. BTW, the part number is CN-0J3492-48111-48D-08K0, I had no idea this motherboard was so well endowed ;D

@stealth
The front control panel and front audio have propriatary connectors and I didnt feel like trying to find the pinout, then having to rewire. I am doing this for a friend and I want to keep costs down. But if I have too much more time into this then I am going to have to reflect it in the price.

Not necessarily. My old Dimension had a BTX case.  Found out the hard way when my PS went out.
