Favorite Visual PinMame tables?
« on: January 22, 2008, 09:49:27 pm »
Personally, I feel that a lot of the newer tables (1992+) don't translate that well but I'm open to suggestions.

My personal favs Black Knight 2000 and High Speed.

My three favs are the same as my three real pin favs--Evel Knievel, Hokus Pokus and Royal Flush.
All three of those have relatively easy ways to get free games, which is what probably attracted me to them when they were all new.

Cyclone, is one of my favorites.  The VP version plays very much like the real table.

It depends on the table. I play Scared Stiff all the time in pinmame, and it was 1996. Of course, it also doesn't have a ton of toys stacked on top of each other like TZ or TAF.

Funhouse is also pretty good in pinmame, but the more I play it, the more I just don't like the shot layout. Actually, I just don't like the layout of hardly any Pat Lawlor games.

Anyways, the quality of the pinmame game has ALOT to do with the person who built it. Try some of the games that have multiple builds and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I've noticed this with Indiana Jones.  The builds vary greatly as far as playability goes.   I'll take a look at Scared Stiff and Funhouse.

Cyclone is already on my list.  I remember playing that one in the arcade back in the day.  Or maybe it was Comet.   ???   I don't seem to have Hocus Pocus in my set so I'm going to snoop around for it.

Have you guys tried Future Pinball?  Beautiful engine, but last I heard it did not have rom support. :(  Once I get a better video card I will get more into Future Pin.

You'd think that, since I actually own one, I'd remember to spell it right.
It's Hokus Pokus, by Bally.

I've played the original Star Trek pin in future pinball, and it is a neat engine. The system requirements are huge though. It really doesn't make sense as to why the requirements are so big, so I have to assume the code is inefficient.

Off the top of my head, I'll try to list a few newer DMD's that play well that I personally play:
Scared Stiff
Whitewater
Whodunnit
South Park
Star Wars
Theatre of Magic
