The cab was a NEO GEO converted from a Atari Space Duel. It took a few weeks, but turned out pretty good. I had so many spare parts from my first build I put this cab together pretty cheap. I already had a spare PC (Athlon XP 2100, ATI Wonder 9800, 512mb), 20" TV, wico joysticks, buttons, speakers and I got the cab for $40. All I had to get was an Ipac and some t-molding and graphics. So, I might be in on this cab about $150 or so, not including the spare stuff.
The artwork is pretty familiar fair but looks awsome. It was printed at Sam's Club. The Sam's near me can print 30x20 color posters for $12 each. The side artwork looks better in person. The flash on the camera made it stick out more than it does.
The bottom speakers grilles are Ford 5x7s bought on ebay for $8 a pair shipped. Painted black. I'd rather have the perforated metal like the original, but that stuff is pricey.
The tinted glass on this cab is cool, too. If you play vertical game on it, you can't see the rest of the monitor so it looks almost authentic, if not a little small compared to a real vertical monitor.
So, that's about it. The only thing I'd like to do is hook up the component video from the ATI 9800 card. I have to get a AIW cable for it.
Over and out!
