Where to buy a 3" clear trackball
« on: May 15, 2003, 02:54:33 pm »
I don't mind spending money on my cab.  But, Happs wants $53 for their 3" clear trackball.
Is there another (cheaper) source for 3" clear trackballs?  FWIW, I have a Betson/Imperial TB.
Thanks.

Apparently the juggling balls at www.extremespin.com are perfect replacements for 3" Happ trackballs.

I don't see any perfectly clear ones, but there's a clear one with sparklies in it, and there are some translucent colored ones that are much much lighter than the happ ones so they are practically clear.  Also, I bet you could get clear if you contacted the company.

"Acrylic Juggling Ball
Crystal clear acrylic balls in three different sizes! These are great for contact juggling or regular juggling! These are also extremely strong, yet relatively lightweight. Not sure what size to get? Click here for recommendations.
Sizes are by diameter, prices range from $13 to $22 "

Extreme Spin has the clear 3" for $22.

Actually, yes, I'm very aware of acrylic juggling balls.  I don't think they have the weight of the trackball, but I may have to give it a try.
Thanks.

Yes, I believe they are lighter than the white trackball balls; but the colored balls at happs are also lighter than the whites, IIRC (or is it just the transparent balls?).  Never the less, contact juggling balls are on the hefty side, and probably are about the same weight as the transparents at happs.  It's the juggle juggling balls that are a lot lighter than the same size TB balls.

But IANACJ (I am no a contact juggler), so I'm not possitive on the exact weights;  my knowledge is from the REAL juggling side. ;)
