if you have a 3/4 wood panel, then I think J-stick will do fine for you....

I only have VERY limited knowledge on 4 way sticks... but if I remember correctly... those 4 way sticks are even shorter...

maybe you can look at Happs and see... they have all the dimensions and so on...

whoops... I should have noted that my cp is 3/4" MDF.  I like the look of the J-stick as well, but how does it feel?  Sturdy, loose, etc...

Also, does anyone know the dimensions of the J-stick?  My cp is getting a little crowded, and I want to make sure it will fit.  I checked ultimarc's website and did't see the dimensions anywhere...

if I didn't remember wrong, the j-stick has the same mounting as the competition and Super....

But the unit itself takes a little less space...
J -stick is a little more compact than the competition and Super...

Hyiu are you sure about that?  I want them to be standard/the same as I'd love to switch out my super clones with a t stick but i thought  i read somewhere that they weren't...  I may be wrong... but could some one check/verify?

all I can say is if the shoe fits... =P  but if the shoe doesn't fit, disregard...  Lets just say i've noticed a correlation between caps locks and unintelligible postings.

Your username is clearly an acronym or initials so it makes sense for it to be in all caps.

*shrug*  good luck with the j-sticks...

ha!  it's actually my initials.  But I am unintelligible somtimes, like Friday afternoons, after a long week of work.  So watch out if I post tomorrow!

I'm going to go ahead and order a j-stick.  This will also keep the wife happy!  She doesn't like the current location of the joysticks and the fact that they are 8-way.  The j-stick should fit nicely in the middle of my cp and allow her hours of Ms Pac-Man and Frogger fun!

Up to my limited memory....

I have ONLY done1 template size for joystick....
and I have mounted Super, Competition, and J-stick...

I DO have an extra J-stick and Comp at home....

If I can dig it out from the BIG BOX full of pieces....

I'll measure.....

If I didn't remember wrong... the J-stick has the same mount... but the T_stick has a different mount....

Now... I CANNOT guarantee this for now... especially I DO NOT have a T-stick....

let me go home and take a look and I'll post another post tonight on this thread and let you know....
(I'll confirm the mounting for J-stick and Competition tonight..)

ok ???

I just mounted a J-Stick on my CP along with Supers.......same template was used, same holes drilled.
What I want to know is: Why are ALL JOYSTICK HOUSINGS closer to the bolt holes on one side? :)

On the JSTick and the Supers, I can get my 10mm socket on THREE corners but NEVER the fourth...there isn't enough space between the plastic of hte joystick housing and the edge of the nut for the socket to slip in between!

Whatta pain :)

sorry I'm late... (already confirmed by headrusch...)

but the J-stick does have the same mounting screw holes as the Super or Comp....

I believe its the T-stick that has a different mount...

All i know is that you should stay away ffrom Happ''s Ultimate 4-way joysticks.  In one word they suck.  this conversation has been brought up a lot lately on this forumn.  I have heard nothing but rave reviews from the J-sticks.  IIf I were to buy another 4-way joystick for my control panel, I would probably buy Happ's galaga/ ms. pacman joystick or whatever.  Imy reasoning is that why not use a 4-way joystick that was made ffrom the games that pracitcally invented the 4-wayer

I have two of the Ms. Pac-Galaga sticks and they are the best 4-ways I have ever owned.
