new vision(s) on a new SDK (no listed commands)
« on: January 07, 2008, 05:51:25 pm »
Since I and Unlet and other could not agree I have scratched the previous SDK from the other thread and then trying again from beginning. Sorry to others as well, if I was upset.

I just think it better to trying from beginning instead using a thread that was going to been out of control.

So instead to trying to write a another SDK, I her See my vision how a SDK could like without writing about one command:

 1. No plugins should listen to one prefer command for a proper use (let user select that).

 2. Commandlist should been 100% controlled by Jukebox software, not by the plug-in.

 3. A plug-in should know ALL commands, not SOME commands by a Jukebox Software. How do we that?

That point crashed the last thread. So we need doing that in some way. I want to have my plugins to retrieve a
FULL command list without looking on other software what they use. What is the best way? I like mine plugins
want to have FULL control to all Jukebox Commands without any comprimes or changing command names.

 4. Queue List should been moved to the file instead of commands (since the queue can change).

 5. Some remote controls sent back to the application (I want to create a virtual remote controller).

 6. How should we control the song playing itself (Think using special commands for that)?

I do not create any commads this time and instead up to others to define that. Just comments it.
What would Pluginwriters need to know?

 7. A plug-in should only show feed back controlled by the plugin writer.

Examples to: Ledwiz, Sound, Remote Controls, LCD, web stats and other such thing.

 :soapbox:

It's at the point that where backbone stuff has been tested and it seems like it is going to work technically.

The only question is there going to be a one system or not.??  ???

My personal view is I will going along with UncleT's choice of system (when he decides) as that's the Video Jukebox I've decided to use in my GameRoom.  :P

But it would be a SUPER BONUS if Space Fractual (using his obvious Enthusiasm, ideas and energy  ;D ) was able to work with UncleT to make a common system so my Plug-ins (and others) could be used on your (and other JukeBox's too)  :)

So I think to make things efficient you should not worry about these threads anymore   :P

I think the only hope for a Global Format is for Space Fractual and UncleT to have direct discussions as you are the two major players who have been interested in contributing to these threads

I will sit back and wait to see what happens.

Thanks everyone (Barcrest, HeadKaze) for your efforts and Suggestions

The next time I post here will be to announce to release of my first JukeBox Plug-in  :applaud:

I changed the SDK to suit UncleT ideas with a just a little twist (in Juke_Config() to fix the problem about unused commands I was scare for). I now hope he accepted that one.

BTW, I dosent like this thread and can been deleted. LoadMan: Please copy your post into the other one, since I asked saint not to touch them (only this).
