Please help me name that game!
« on: January 03, 2008, 12:16:11 am »
I'm going nuts thinking about it and have had no luck finding a name or pics of a arcade game I would play when I was younger. The best way I can describe the game it that it was like rampage (smash buildings and stuff) but it had a camera view like King Of Monsters. See pic below

I dont see one Rampage game that matches it and it was not a fighting one like King Of Monsters. All I remember is being able to select between lizard , kong and a grey wolf. This had to be around 1988ish..... any ideas????

King of The Monsters 2?

Choose from three monsters: a large lizard (very much like Godzilla), a large robotic ape, or a huge mutant human. You walk through a stage destroying planes, buildings, and other creatures. There are power-ups to make your player more powerful (it also changes your color), and power-ups that reward points. At the end of the stage you go head-to-head against a boss creature. Live out your Godzilla fantasy!

If there was another game where you smashed buildings as a lizard, ape, or grey wolf around 1988, I would be very surprised.  You sure you don't mean rampage?

nope.... I'm 99% sure it Had a 3 player deck with each spot assigned to one of the 3 guys. It was just like rampage with crushing buildings but i don't see a single rampage version like it anywhere.

Maybe you're thinking of a console version or something.

although it's not an arcade game, "Crush, Crumble and Chomp!" was a strategy game from Epyx that came out in 1981. Great game, 1981 graphics.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crush,_Crumble_and_Chomp!

"The game allows the player to recreate a movie monster and attack a city, much in the manner of the classic horror movies of the 1950s."

There was a game for the C64 called like "Monster Madness" or "Movies MonsteR"  or something like that.. UGH I Think that might be your game.  It's very similar to the game you're describing, and it was 2 diskettes.
