Ultimarc E Stick
« on: December 30, 2007, 09:35:18 pm »
Has anyone had experience with this control?   I was wondering how it is compared to the Ultimarc J Stick.

How does the rotation work?    Does it rub the top of the arcade panel?    I would just hate for it to be a problem in that capacity.    Also, is there a chace of it getting loose connection or is it a pretty nice design?

If you don't have the room, this seems to be the only way to go in regard to Qbert.

Thx in advance.

I recently received my E Stick for the bartop I'm constructing.  Seems like a pretty nice design.  For ease of installation, you can't beat it -- it installs pretty much like a pushbutton.  I haven't played anything with it yet (as my bartop isn't complete) but I am a little concerned with it becoming loose after time and it needing occasional tightening.  I'm going to make sure the underside of my CP is easily accessible just in case that happens -- you need to get underneath it to switch between 4 and 8 way anyway.   The four way mode wasn't what I was hoping for -- it doesn't restrict movement of the stick, it just prevents two microswitches from being depressed at the same time.  Other than that, it seems like a good choice for a bartop (it's pretty short) or maybe as a secondary stick for an upright.

Thanks for the reply.   With research, it looks like this just isn't the one for me.
