LEDWiz Lumin Audio (can some lights NOT dance to the music)?
« on: December 25, 2007, 08:03:25 pm »
I am using the one LEDWiz I bought to make my LED lights dance to the music, however, it would be nice to have a couple of them stay on all the time.   Is there a way to make this happen?  If so, please be specific when telling me how    :P

Thanks!

Cheat and wire some directly to the power supply (with appropriate resistors in place of course ). That way you don't waste Led-Wiz outputs.

If Randy ever gets around to adding external application support for LuminAudio then I don't see why he couldn't add more control over what it does. Unless it's supported in the software there is no other way except to wire it up like loadman said.

Yeah, I might end up hard-wiring it directly to the power supply .... but I was curious whether I could use the LEDWiz in case later I decided I wanted them to dance.   I would not need to rewire at that point .... oh well.

Thanks for the info.

Out of curiosity unclet have you had a look at your panel while playing some lwa's (LEDWiz Animation files)? I think your limiting yourself by only using LuminAudio software. You might be suprised by the cool effects lwa's and other effects can produce using the LEDWiz. If you have a search on this forum you will find an archive of over 70+ different animation effects I created using the basic lwa format which was later improved upon by arzoo and me to be lwax format. They should look really nice on your LED panel. I did ask Randy at one stage if he could add lwa playback to his LuminAudio software and randomly jump between the effects. That is really what you should be aiming for (begging Randy to update his software that is hehe).

Nah .... just want my lights to dance to the music only.   Possibly have a couple of them on all the time.    Do not really want to have any effects since I am not going to have any "attract mode" type lights on my cabinet.

I always thought it would be cool to have some lights dancing to the music while other ran animations.

Ok, I see the point and I might be able to use something like that possibly.

I would like Randy to update his software with the following options:

1) Add an indicator per LED light to determine whether each light should stay ON all the time or dance to the music when the music IS playing.

2) Add an indicator per LED light to determine whether each light should stay on or off when the music is NOT playing.

3) For the lights which should remain ON when the music is NOT playing (see 2 above), then there should be an additional indicator to determine whether these lights should run an animation file.

yea that does suck, I emailed them asking abuot it, and they never responded
ATM that is one of the things holding me back from getting one,
I wanted to put leds up where the speakers are, that react to the audio, then all the CP buttons, either slowy fade, or be constantly on, and or have the option to change it all around.
Hopefully something like that is in the works

I would believe the actual LEDWiz hardware would remain the same, however, the software would need to be updated to include the new functionality.   I bought the LEDWiz so my lights can dance, but I can always upgrade the software at a later date if desired.
