Is it possible?
« on: December 25, 2007, 06:43:32 am »
So I was wondering is it possible to build a electronic Dartboard and run the roms from the dartboard systems through mame?

if so where would one come across such a Dartboard CP? it just perked in my mind to make one while I was at the bar because I'm making a bar myself in my house and it would be 1000x cheaper as I have several spare older computers. I checked happ but I did not see any of the parts there but maybe I'm blind. Good chance for the whole blind part too. I haven't slept in 36 hours now.

Hm. You can get a cheap electronic dart board from any given Wal-Mart or Target, and I suppose you could build a cab for that. Maybe I don't quite understand what you are trying to accomplish?

You can buy the parts from Happs site - I actually rebuilt my Arachnid English Mark Darts, and ordered a bunch of parts from Divemaster here on the boards - check out the B/S/T section. However, no, you can run the roms through Mame - I don't believe anyone has actually dumped them, and the hardest part of all would be to build the interface. A couple of people have done it with a parallel port and specialized software, however it is not the original program. Check Craigslist, check Ebay, check the auctions - deals are around, you just have to be patient, and always looking. I would recommend saving a search in ebay, and setting up RSS feeds for Craigslist...

Thanks for the input. it was just a kinda off the wall idea. I had a old 350 mhz g4 lying around and a 13 inch monitor so I was like I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask. I'll have to check craigs list. I checked ebay but they were just cabinets for the 9.99 junkie dart boards you find at walmart
