You have to look beyond the poop jokes. It's a very brilliantly written show. Though if you're a strict conservative, they'll definitely rub you the wrong way.

I'd give it another try if I were you.  As has been said, it truly has turned into one of the greatest satires in the history of television.  I assure you it's not just about poop jokes and swearing(though if it were and it was funny, who cares?)

They write and produce every episode only 1 week before it airs!  Every episode is fresh with current political or pop culture issues that get taken to task.  The show has only gotten better with age.

Check out Team America(also by the South Park guys) on DVD as well if you haven't seen it.  Simplistic people like yourself just slag it off as a simple "puppet movie" when in reality it is a picture perfect commentary on our national patriotism and the "war against terror".

OTOH, reruns aren't all that great to watch, for the same reason.  Every time I catch it it seems to be about something that happened long enough ago that I can't remember it or care about it anymore.

I dunno, I guess I can't get past the voices of these characters and they just annoy me too much. It wouldn't matter what they say when they say it like a bunch of retarded sounding characters. I can't get pasted that and actually watch it for any period of time.

SP does not sound like any normal voice you would ever hear anywhere from anybody, it's just a really bad attempt at a character voice.

If you enjoy this show that's great, but I don't think I can ever get into it. Next time I happen to see it on again I'll try to give it another shot, just for you.

Neither does anyone on Family Guy.  Not one character.  That's the way animated sitcoms work.

Heck yeah!  And how something stupid like scoring some booze for a party could be a make or break moment.  The scene where he decides to use the laundry detergent bottles to carry the beer?  CLASSIC@!!!!

That's what's great about movies: one person's classic is another person's bomb.  Take Lost in Translation.  I LOVED that movie, but a lot of people thought it was stupid and boring.  Who's right?  We all are.  Like it, hate it, love it, despise it.  That's entertainment!

Oh, and I like southpark, used to LOVE the simpsons (they're still funny, but not as 'relevant'), and find family guy funny, but not that funny.

Not a problem for those of us who grew up around raging alcoholics.  By that age, either no one would notice a couple missing cheap bottles, or would just tell us to bring the chicks over and we'd all get drunk.  Cool at the time... looking back, not so much.

Now, if we were dumb enough to take a more expensive bottle... better not come home.

Superbad definitely had a decent representation of how far some guys would go to try to get laid... except where the popular hot chicks were willing to talk to the geeks even to get them to bring alcohol.  Not realistic unless they somehow planned to throw them out after getting what they wanted.
