Coin Door Confusion
« on: May 11, 2003, 02:52:56 pm »
Hi,
I'd like to put an over/under coindoor in my cabinet.  I would also like to have it 4 player.  On happs should I get:
40-0946-00
 4-Entry Multi-Player Over/Under Door w/o Cashbox or Enclosure

Or should I get the seemingly standard mame cab standard 2 coin version and wire the second coin for players 2, 3, and 4?

40-0038-00 Yes  DOOR ASSY,O/U,.25 US HAPP MECH
NO HARN OR MET 14V LMP W/ENCLO 1+:  $ 88.60
100+:  $ 82.75

Also, do I really need the cashbox accessory for the 4 player coindoor?

Thanks for your help

Well hello.

Ive thought about this more then enough my self, it would seem to me that you only need a 4 player coin door if your going to be playing a large amount of gauntlet, simpsons or other 4 player games. But wiring 2,3,4 to the same door would put a coin in for all of them, which may be a problem if your not playing with all of those 3 players.

I think that you wouldnt need a coin box, but you would need something to catch whatever falls through, so like a bowl, cardboard box or peice of tupperware.

I don't think it would be a problem even if you aren't playing with all those  players as they would just get credits, but if you don't hit p3 and p4 start they will not be in the game.  The game might wonder why in hell someone is wasting their money dropping in a bunch of quarters and then not playing, but it's not going to complain.  More money for it.
