Need help with converting image for use in MaLa

OK guys I've been tinkering around with my MaLa instsall this evening with some success. I managed to get my original MameWah menu screen converted using the MaLa conversion tool (very clever) and to some degree all is fine.

However my original MameWah screen had a background image that I made myself over which MameWah put all the menu and image boxes. This image is saved as a JPeg file... exactly the same format as all the Space Invader background images used in MaLa as default. But I just cannot fathom how to get my image displayed.

The menu looks just the same as it did with MameWah but without my background image.

Use the layout editor, MalaLayout.exe.  Below is the wiki instructions for setting the background image.  Its the second item under the heading "Building the layout".

FYI

The Mamewah layout converter does not 'automagically' copy the graphics over.

You need to do that manually.

OK guys thanks for the help... I've got a bit further now. I can see my converted MameWah image in the MaLa editor. And I can import my background image fine. However I cannot get a "Title" box to appear anywhere. There is no Title box on the screen.... and selecting and deselecting in the text options list does nothing. I can bring in any other kind of text choice... except title.

And when I save my work and reload MaLa my background graphics are still not showing. Does my background art have to be in a certain place even after I've saved?

EDIT:   LOL... I've sorted out the image problem.... just wasn't in the correct directory. Still need to work on the Title box issue though.

Well I've been at this for the last two hours now and I finally worked it out. Well sort of... I still never managed to get "Title" box to appear in my template. But I was able to select a user defined text box to sit in its place and then set it as I wanted. I'd been so focussed on the Title issue that I never thought to try one of the other lines. 

Time for bed... and somw more tweaking tomorrow. I must say as I get more used to MaLa it does look extremely flexible. I bet there must be some cracking FE templates have been made with this software.
