Speaker Newb

I'm looking to put some decent speakers in my upright arcade cabinet.  These seem decent and in my price range.

Is there anything I should be looking out for?

Are there amps that connect to my computer power supply or to a 120v AC outlet or do I need some kind of adapter?  Suggestions?

Also, I'm not a fan of the yellow.  I guess I can buy speaker covers somewhere?  Would one light coat of black spray paint affect the sound quality much?  I guess I could mount them inside the cab and put a flat mesh cover across the whole panel.

Those are component speakers, meaning you have a seperate woofer, midrange and tweeter for each side. You would have to cut holes for both the woofer and the mid on each side; the tweeter is probably surface mount. Co-axial speakers include both a woofer and tweeter in one unit.

Component speakers are usually considered to sound better, but are more difficult to mount. You also have to deal with wiring the crossover to each speaker. Most people seem to use Co-Ax speakers in arcade games for ease of installation. Of course many of the original classics came with one single full range speaker, and didn't even have stereo.

Pyle as a brand is usally looked down upon as being cheap and not that great, but they probably sound acceptable.

My 2 cents...!
