Mameroom to donate 10% of all sales to charity
« on: November 26, 2007, 08:43:39 pm »
Not sure where this post should go or will end up.  In addition to offering a 10% off discount during the holiday seasons (coupon code XMAS), Mameroom designs will be donating a portion of all sales to the Tay-Sachs foundation.

I (Scott Glazer) live in olmsted falls, ohio.  This is the same town that a little 8 year old girl with a rare disease call Tay-Sachs lives in.  She is such a miracle, yet she (and many others like her) need our help.  It truely is a race against time...see, it is also extremely rare that children born with this disease live past the age of 5.  It is always fatal in children!

I had the pleasure of being part of a fundraiser afterparty for this girl and the foundation started by her parents.  I would like to say I had the pleasure of meeting her, but as I slowly approached this beautiful child and watch her smile at the entertainment performing during the party...I soon realized that this child (and every other child that shares this disease) may not be with us much longer, unless they find a cure.   Having 3 children of my own, I soon became overwhelmed at how lucky we all were.

Needless to say, I never got the chance to meet Dakota in person as the closer I got to her, the more I felt like I wanted to cry (Being a guy, I couldn't let anyone see that)...so being the coward that I am, I just watched her from afar.

I've never felt so guided to do anything more in my life than to try to help this girl...Please watch the video on the Dakotasdream fundraising website!  If you feel compelled, please make a donation.  I have set up the Mameroom website to also accept donations (on every product page) or donate directly through the foundation's website...and again, if you make a purchase from www.mameroom.com, 10% of the money you spend will go to this charity!

So please check out the banner on www.mameroom.com or visit http://www.curetay-sachs.org/dream.shtml

Happy holidays!
