MAME32 and multiple spinners
« on: November 20, 2007, 11:22:29 am »
Hi,

I have recently been setting up my cab and I tried to get two spinners working in Super Off-Road (I use little steering wheels) but I can't get the spinners to recognize as separate inputs for each player 1 and 2. I tried mapping the 2nd spinner to player 2 in the game setup menu (so it only shows up for player 2 control) but all it does is also control player 1 so I can have the two spinners and trackball controlling player 1.

I am using XP and Mame32 120.4 or something.

Is this an XP issue where I need to say I have multiple mice in the OS or something else?

Thanks

ahofle

How are these spinners connected to your PC?  Are you using an interface like an Optipac or Optiwiz?  Or is this a hacked mouse spinner?

They are each connected via USB and they are the TurboTwist 2 spinners.

Thanks

So you got two 'master' units instead of a master and a slave?

Hi ahofle,

Yep, I am pretty sure they are both masters.

I just went into the game setup again and was able to get the game to recognize them as individual controls. I think it was the trackball that was causing the problems before as it was overriding the spinners and making them secondary controls for player 1.

Thanks for the help....much appreciated.
