cheap (good) ddr pad for wii and pc?
« on: November 20, 2007, 03:37:59 pm »
Santa is bringing the kids a Wii and my cabinet build is going to be done in time for the Holidays, I want to try the dance pad thing, but the high end pads / panels are too expensive without testing and seeing if they will get used, so I am looking for a good quality cheap pad that will work with wii and pc / mame. Any suggestions.....
Thanks
GD

The wii is currently using the gamecube ports for the dancepad. I don't know of any that work for the gamecube and the PC. The red octane pads are pretty good, but not compatible with the wii. Hopefully someone might know of one; for now I am just waiting. Red Octane ,so far, does not seem to interested in wii dance pads. I want an adapter for my afterburner pad, but they don't have one.

Good luck!

For the PC (or xbox, PS2), the afterburner is a great pad if you determine your family will use it enough to justify the cost. After playing on this pad, I won't even mess with a soft pad anymore; it is a completely different experience.

I've been using these Kraft dance pads with my PCs and
cab... works great.  Unfortunately the free offer expired
but maybe you could contact Kraft and get some on the cheap?

They also work with Stepmania.

Just wanted to mention that I bought a RedOctane metal dance pad for my kids over a year ago and it still works excellent for them and friends.    If you kids love the dance pad, then I would also recommend the RedOctane metal pad.

Go on ebay.  You can get two pads for around $25.  If they work out, get better ones.  If not, you saves a good deal of cash.
