Jamma edge cconnector problems
« on: November 19, 2007, 03:44:09 pm »
I want to purchase from Bob Roberts a Jamma edge card connector with pins ASAP. I have a converted (from killer instinct) area 51 site 4. It frequently re-starts sometimes sticking in a continuous shut down / re-start mode. It seems when I wiggle the Jamma edge card connector the problem goes away for a few hours to days. I believe this is due to a loss of the +5VDC at that connection. Am I on the right track?
Thanks, Robert

Sounds like it.  You could just tighten up the connection and clean the pins so it makes better contact.

If the cleaning doesn't work, try putting a bead of solder on the pin on the board.  This will cause the connector to go in a bit tighter and make a better connection.
