edit-chad in your opinion which is better the gen1 or the gen2 genesis and snes?

A properly working Rev 1 Genesis is the one to get, IMO... IIRC it's the only one you get true stereo out of (from the headphones jack).  The Genesis 3 has issues with the controller port firmware and the Genesis 2 has really flimsy a/v ports that crack their solder joints easily.

I think the problem here is that he's tried nothing and he's all out of ideas.

lol i like how you said "he's" instead of "you"  :laugh2:

the 3rd model i was going to avoid completely because it reportedly doesnt let certain adapters or games fit into the slot.
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

That's because I was talking to everyone else.

Can't say I've had that happen, though it does not work with the Sega CD.

Hrm.  I don't think I've tried that... when I want to play a Master System game I bust out a Master System.

Ah see the more i think about it the more it seems a point i can over look.  The adapter is probably hard to find to the point where i could just get a master system.  though i thought there was another problem with it.

edit- what was the model that could play any sega game before the dreamcast?  just remembered it now but it wasnt made by sega i think.

The SMS-Genesis module is definitely rarer than an actual SMS.

The SMS tends to burn out its voltage regulator... most of the ones I've gotten were dead and swapping out the 7805 brought them right back to life.
