A bit more info...

I have a Teken 33" dynamo cabinet that had a semi working Kortek KT-3301 monitor.

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=72736.0

I sort of got it working a bit better by re-soldering a few joints.  But the chassis seems to be so badly hacked that it will take some more time to test everything and order new parts.  Plus, I am an armature repair man  of sorts ;-p  Winter is coming and i don’t think its wise to leave it sitting in my garage all winter. To go back a forth testing when I have spare time.

Plus I have many other projects on the go.

I am faced with ether storing it or trashing it.

What do you all think i should do ?

1. Order a new chassis.

2. Send this one out to be fixed, which will be a gamble if the tube is shot.

3. Find a used monitor.

4. Trash it / Give away.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,

grantspain

one option maybe to see if someone like alva amusements do a wei ya replacement chassis to fit your tube
i think the chances of finding a 33" tube for a good price are slim
another option is to contact nick at nieman displays,he is in canada-maybe he has some suggestions

if you gameboard support vga you could replace it with a DL-31 DL-33 gateway destination monitor they show up on craigslist here and there and usually are around $100.00 for a working one.

I would hold onto it incase the parts can be found.

I apologize for my ignorance, but what is a wei ya chassis ?  Some sort of 'fits all' replacement chassis ?

So you don't sound like a dork, his name is actually Rick.  (I have a good reason to remember... ;D )

And (for clarity) - Wei ya is just another manufacturer or brand name of monitors (like Makvision, or Wells Garner)

Rick

Grantspain, I wasn't calling you a dork - I was just trying to help out Arm123.  I, in no way, was trying to insult you, nor trying to discredit you or damage your reputation of stellar knowledge of arcades, and particularly monitors.   :notworthy: I purposely even tried to play it off that I only knew because his name was the same as mine, in an effort not to discredit you and to show that my intent was good.  I now can see where you could have taken offense to this, I apologize, it was not my intention.

Thanks,
Rick
