Well, my friend who's cabinet I spent 12 hours wiring up has decided to sell it on eBay.  The cab is very solid and the monitor is perfect.  He is including the computer which has a AVGA card in it as well as the fully-equiped control panel including a 3" Happ trackball, IPAC4, and OptiPac.  Its a pretty solid machine, but he doesn't have room for it anymore.  The best part is that this auction has NO RESERVE!  Its listed at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120180097800&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=002

If you have any questions, you can post them here as I know pretty much everything about this cabinet.  Thanks!

Seems that, since you spent 12 hours wiring the thing, he'd give you first dibbs and one helluva deal in purchasing it. So then the obvious question is why don't you want it?

I already have a system I built completely from scratch and dont have room for another.  If i had the room and the money, i would definately buy this one too!

Our Video Game Center is expanding and we just don’t have room for our MAME machine any longer.

Looks to me like there is a contradiction somewhere in that sentence. :dunno

hehe yea...they have like 50 PC stations and 50 Xbox stations, and are adding more of those which will take up more room where the MAME is currently.

Any reason why you went with 7 buttons on P3 & P4?

Control panel came pre-drilled that way.  Otherwise I wouldn't have put them there nor the extra buttons for the spinners or the single 4-way sticks.  But yea, Dr. Frankenpanel must have made this one :)

The cabinet was ordered from a CNC factory.  I can't remember the name of the company, but they used to build "ready-to-go" cabinets in which you add your monitor, controls, computer, marquee, speakers, etc.  Anyway, the thing is made of 3/4" MDF and covered with black laminate.  Very good solid quality.  We routed and installed the T-molding ourselves which came out very good.  I will see if I can find any old receipts for the cabinet itself...i am thinking he paid around $400 - 500 plus freight to get it here.

Very nice cabinet.  Should find itself a good home.
