How much can I disassemble a driving cabinet?
« on: October 28, 2007, 08:06:42 am »

Well, I'm looking into buying this cabinet:

But I need to have an idea of how much I can disassemble it...can anyone give any advice?

I want to make sure I can get it through the door before buying it :)

pull the manual on it.  If you cant find it then I would pull the metal plate that is on the floor right in front of the seat. Looks to be the breaking point for it and it will allow access to the wiring to disconnect from the seat portion.  Then use your eyes to find whatever holds to together...

Nice find.

What CPU are you considering?

The monitor section can be unplugged and removed  the side panels unscrew and the base splits in two.... The seat will fit easily through a standard door.

I maintain six of these..... One set with SEGA Rally 2 running, another with OUTRUN 2.... and yet another set running another SEGA Driver game. They're all basically the same cabinet. You should have no trouble with this. I can measure up the actual cabinet widths if you want.

So this isn't like Daytona where the boards are under the seat?

The boards are under the seat. But the front section of the base with the pedals can be split from the rear section with a bit of fiddling and unplugging.  They have a Chihiro Board which is basically more or less a Naomi 2 system in there.

I have the flyer with dimensions...and total weight. But if I can break it
into three parts that won't kill me, and they'll fit through a regular door,
the great!!

I haven't thought about what CPU yet:)

Thanks,

Nicholas
