Actually, I would like to hear the feedback-  is it because they are too plain?  We hope to have something more elaborate soon.

They may not be "creative" graphically, but I have gotten feedback from others already that they like the jokes.

Dude i don't really want to rag on you cause i will look more of a dick than normal, but you asked so i will try and be constructive.

Personally i wouldn't use cafepress for a start. They are expensive, real expensive... I know it's easy to use but let me say again they are expensive. Then like you said they are just T-Shirts with TEXT on them nothing elaborate. Anyone could just set up a cafpress store and put your text on T-Shirt if they really wanted one and set the price to minimum and buy them. Finally i don't think the captions are that great no matter what people have said to you.

The proof will be in the pudding so to speak to see if you get any sales, but i really don't think you will be retiring on the proceeds any time soon. You might be better off finding a local printing place and getting them silkscreened onto T-shirts yourself and selling them via your site. You will save a bundle and be able to sell them at a price people won't mind paying for something they might only wear once or twice.

BC,

No worries at all, and your feedback is greatly appreciated (and no you didn't sound like a d!ck).

I'd thought about what you'd said before using cafepress, re: having a local place do them, but ran into 2 issues:

1. I haven't had much time to research a place in the area b/c I work, I'm going to school, and I have a 2 yr old..  trust me the last one is a BIGGIE  :D

2. I wanted to test the water with a LARGER audience and get feedback re: the shirts in general (ie interest over all)

I TOTALLY agree with you that the prices are a little high, but actually I found out that if you walk into a Hot Topic store, their prices aren't too far off from what cafepress is asking (now I know someone will be able to find a cheaper shirt to prove me wrong, so I'll give a GENERAL example at the link below)

http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/store/nodePage.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302028385&bmUID=1193356984184

And yep, you're dead-on AGAIN about it not generating HUGE profits for me- but that's actually not my intent..  I thought these might be fun and unique items for people to pick up as gifts etc for those more DIFFICULT hobbyists like us arcade game owners  (and I mean DIFFICULT as in 'hard to buy for', not that we're a bunch of pains in the @$$).  So, if I can help someone along with that, and make a couple bucks in the process, I've achieved my goal.  I'm one of those people that likes obscure hobbies that aren't mass-promoted like sports, NASCAR, etc.   So I'm the prime of example of one who is hard to buy for..

I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this.  And I'm always up for doing things BETTER, so I'm sure this will be a constantly-evolving process for me!

Regards,

VG

So you took them off-line now ? Link is now dead ?

I must admit that I didn't read them all, but I've seen shirts with some nice looking retro(game) graphic art, sometimes with text...There's no problem at all trying to so something like this, but putting a little effort/time in it is probably needed to get some sales. I'd never buy a text-only shirt, but hey there may be other people who do.

Nope, left them up.  Here's the link:

Maybe they were having server issues?

Bar, do you have an alternative to CafePress that you could recommend?
