Hinges
« on: May 06, 2003, 06:41:04 am »
I have searched all over and I can't seem to find the right hinges for the front of my cab (coin door panel), I am looking for a hidden type hinge.

Something like 1-UP's:

OK, I just re-read 1-UP's parts list, and it looks like he just used a piano hinge for the front door.

QUESTION for 1-UP:  How did you keep it hidden?

1-Up did not hide the hinge.

Piano hinges cannot be hidden.  They are just a lilttle harder to see.

Take a close look at this picture: http://www.1uparcade.com/images/securityBar.jpg

Look at the left side, you can see the hinge.

But he did use hidden cabinet hinges on the back of his cab.  The hinge itself, I believe, has a square part of it that has to be recessed into the wood.  I guess a router would be best for this, but it's not too big and could probably be easily done with a chisel.  Home Depot carries them.
