how to mount LED in microswitch push buttons
« on: October 24, 2007, 12:46:32 pm »
Hello,

the next step of my uroMAMEstyx project is to mount the controls on the CP.
Since I'm using a LEDWIZ, I need to mount 1 or 2 leds on each puch buttons.

After doing a search, the only good example that I found was knievel's on leaf switch pushbuttons.

So far, what I entended to do, is to drill 2 holes on each side of the push button (right below the nut that secure the button into place) and install the led there.

Could you post some good pics on how to mount 1 or 2 leds on microswitch pushbutton?
Or explain a better way of doing this...

Thanks
Jay

The Wiki has an excellent guide that I used. Here's the guide: http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Lighting_Microswitch_Buttons

Here are my results (test setup, by the way):

If you have high output LED's, you can drill a hole at the bottom, either side of the microswitch just big enough for the top of the led to go through, and hotlglue 'em in there.  That's where my standard leds mounted on my Electric ICE buttons from GGG.  I'm using one for power, and I THINK I'm going to use another 2 for player1 and Player2 start, the power one has a dual-color standard LED from a PC case in it, green for PC power, amber for sleep...

Thanks guys!

shame on me to not even think to look in the wiki...

I think I'm gonna go with 2 led/button.
