Sources for Cocktail Glass ??
« on: May 05, 2003, 11:17:50 pm »
I'm looking for Ms. Pac Man/Galaga (old style) glass.
I've seen it at www.twobits.com and was wondering if
there are any other good sources.
I don't really want to run around town looking for custom glass quotes.
thanks

Check the forsale forum... someone else just posted the same question over the weekend. More info there, but here is the basics:

Just call your local glass shop.  Around here it was about $43 plus sales tax.  Here's (almost) exactly what to ask for:

1/4"
Clear
Tempered
22"x32"
4 corner radius cuts
Sanded (frosted or polished) edges
No bevel

The only thing I don't have in the list is the EXACT radius of the corner cuts... the other thread I think has it)

Also if you search eBay there is someone who is *constantly* listing it for $70 which INCLUDES FedEx ground shipping in that amount.   So if you're lazy and don't want to call around, you can just buy it from him and get it for $70 tonite.

Good luck

Oops...I missed that thread.
Thanks for the reply. I was searching around in the newsgroups and someone said the radius was 3 1/2" as opposed to 3 3/8" in the other thread. I'm sure either would be good enough as they are very close.

Here's the other thread for cross reference and searching purposes:

I took the top of my cocktail cab into a glass shop and had them cut the glass perfectly to the top I made.  It was pretty simple.  I wood recommend getting "smoked" glass.  It is a very slight tint.  Cost around $45 to have made.  Good luck.
