Japanese Yen coin mech mod
« on: October 23, 2007, 12:19:59 pm »
I was curious if anyone knew of a tried-and-true method for modifying a Japanese coin accepter to accept US quarters.  The coin mech in question is an Asahi Seiko vertical coin accepter that came in a Taito Egret 29 candy cab.

I searched the forum and saw the post about making coin mechs "universal", but the one I have doesn't seem to be covered.  Has anyone attempted this with any luck?

In the unfortunate event this sort of modification is impossible, does anyone know where I can get a bunch of 50 Yen coins inside the US (without paying an arm and a leg for conversion fees)?

Thanks!
