minipac loses configuration

I had programmed my ultimarc minipac as desired and it was working for approx. 1 year. All of a sudden it seems to forget my custom settings at each machine shutdown. I have load the configuration tool, load my saved settings and program the minipac after each reboot.

Any ideas why or how to fix this?

Problem: (USB Only) Board appears not to work until WinIPAC is run every time following reboot. Yellow exclamation marks in Control Panel, Device Manager.
This is a rare Windows XP problem (fixed in Vista), and is caused by a registry error. It is suspected that this problem occurs if the board is regularly swapped from one USB port to another, or different board versions used on the same PC.
Ensure you are using the latest version of WinIPAC (March 2007) which has a permanent workaround for this problem. Installing the latest version should cure the problem with no further action needed.

Not sure if that's it, but worth a shot.

I downloaded the newer winIpac and also cleaned up some old software on my machine and initial tests look better now. I am going to try it out for a few days and see. Thanks for the tip.

I stuck a usb to ps2 adapter on mine and called it a day and never had a problem since but with the usb straight up it never worked right after power down and that was the same day I got it.

Andy's fix works fine when using the USB adaptor.

But, in the system properties->hardware list, you must delete the entry with the yellow triangle. After that, you're good to go.

I've been dealing with loss of configuration for a long, long time. I had to reprogram every time at boot up. I installed the updated software today and its fixed! Just as ST said, as soon as I deleted the yellow triangle in the hardware list, its all good. I'm still in disbelief, but relieved.
