OK, not the best picture, but the very first custom Mameroom made panels (without overlays)...completely wired and ready to go...except I'm waiting for the spinners to arrive.  These panels were custom based on the customer's specifications.

We are currently working on several control panels (all custom and different sizes).  I will post pictures as they become available if there is an interest as an SS alternative.

Scott,

Good effort ... your panels look great.    :D

I presume the red arrows are highlighting where the spinners shall be installed.

Good luck waiting.  A few weeks ago I inquired to Happ about said spinner and the response I got was "out of stock and no ETA as to when it will be available".

Umm, they're closed. Permanently. Until Christian resurfaces under a new name. He most likely is waiting until this thread dies down, and the AG case is over...

Do yourself a favor and buy from another vendor.

I'm surprised to hear you can't get the spinner through Happ. I ordered one about a week and a half ago, and it's already shipped (I even called Happ and specifically inquired about it, due to SlikStik's disappearance).

Why would anyone buy a product manufactured by a company that is out of business and went out stealing money from a community you visit?   Why not simply buy a GGG TurboTwist 2 being it's a BETTER solution anyway...or any of the number of other spinners out there?

What happens when your spinner dies and you need a part?   Will Happ help?   I dunno.

I for one only knew that their website was down, not that they're thieves in some way. If it dies, I buy a different spinner. Pretty simple.

Can anyone repost or link to the post with the info to contact.. whoever it was a group of ya'll was getting in touch with to file claims against slikstik or whatever? I did a quick search and apparently missed it (24 pages to dig through so..)

I'm currently out around 900$ and am way past my banks charge back thing. I ordered back at the end of July and Christian told me I was the 4th order that was put on hold, and was going to be one of the first orders that got sent out as he started his gift giving or whatever you wanna call it. Haven't received one email response or had one phone call answered since I talked to him right after the new year.

Basically I'm a big dumb dumb and should have taken some action way back when.

Has anyone contacted a personal attorney??? I'm starting that way. PM me if you prefer.

We could always ban together and say screw the AG, hire an attorney ourselves and go after him:

I sent an email to Mrs. Nicolette and received a response about 3 minutes later.

I am so sorry to hear about your connection with them…. You seem to be one of the lucky ones who even has had a conversation with Chris this year…

All the complaints (and there have been many) have been forwarded to the state attorney general’s office.  As of this week they are all still being reviewed for further proceedings

I will forward your email to them immediately.  Annmarie Nicolette

Hello, I have a part from a SlikStik cabinet (the black plastic piece w/magnet that keeps the keyboard drawer in place) that just broke.  Is there any way I can get a replacement for this?

Thanks,

All,

I just filled out the on-line form that formally registers a complaint.  I'd encourage
you all to please help by filling one yourselves as well.  You can find the link here...

    http://www.nj.gov/oag/ca/ocp/ocpform.htm

It took only 5 minutes... no sweat.  Since the scum at Slik Stik have taken
down their web site (making it a little more difficult to chase them) here's
the necessary contact information...

i sold a machine the other night and the guy that was picking it up said he recently bought a "slikstik", and claimed to have recently (within the last couple months) spoke to christian.  when i started asking questions if he was still in business, he started changing the subject, and his friend was giving him a weird look.  I live about 10 minutes from "Slikstik", so i think these guys that were at my house might know him.

just a note that I just ordered two slikstik spinner knobs and a tornado spinner via Happs and received both within a week or so.  As usual Happ overcommunicates every breaking development since a SlikStik spinner/knob order will immediately be classified as "backordered"

For those that have asked to test out our new control panel designing software...here it is in Beta.

http://www.mameroom.com/files/MameroomCPD.zip

This software is different from our other version.  Our previous version (still available) allowed you to create a control panel of any length, depth, and height.  This software is limited to our standard 2 player and 4 player control panels and will be used for ordering fully assembled control panels.

Some key features of this version are:
Clicking on a control will bring up a properties windows that will allow you to select a color, accurately place the control on the control panel, and even specify what you want the control to be mapped to (if you want something other than the default).  This means you receive a custom control panel, custom programmed to your exact specifications...

...no more just settling for what's available.

Still to come:
1) Integrated costing and ordering
2) CAD import feature
3) Custom Overlays
4) Illuminated buttons/joysticks
5) Additional controls from other vendors.
6) T-molding color options

If interested, please give it a try and provide feedback.
Thanks.

When I ordered my SlikStik i told him i had to have it at my door within the paypal dispute period, or i'd file. but I got my product.

and no, it wasn't four times. he was shipping it at no charge to me because i ordered the quad+pin buttons, lighted joys, smooth mounted ball etc... i bought the works. I also live on the westcoast. so in reality, I just paid the shipping I would have had to pay if he didn't give me free shipping for my rather expensive order. four times, not sure where you got that math solution seeing as you have no idea of the point to point shipping.

I am guessing you had an entire CAB shipped for the $175?  The 4x remark likely comes from an estimate of what shipping would be for a control panel only...which shouldn't cost much more than $40-$50 to ship tops.

I think you are missing the "overnight" part. Shipping a frankenpanel overnight coast to coast could easily cost that much.

Should you have paid that? No way.

Should you have issued a charge back and told Slikstik you would re-purchase once it cleared so you could reset the claim timer? Yes.

I would have to disagree...it would seem simple to issue a chargeback then "just get your money back" and re-buy. However, "Slikstik" or whomever's account it is (it ain't Christian or Slikstik's), doesn't have "Buyer's Assurance."
What does that mean? It means that if he/she/it stiffs you, Paypal will freeze their account and send you funds if available. However, would you imagine that there are funds available in that account? Course not, so basically, you are screwed with Paypal. Why would someone screwing people keep funds in account that could be taken back?

I know for a fact...

Moral of the story...Paypal sucks...know your terms of agreement before you buy ANYTHING online with ANY purchase method.

If you get screwed, file a paypal claim and win, paypal pays you back up to $1000 minus $25. I was screwed on a $25.78 transaction once. I won, and sure enough got my 78 cents. I then called my CC company and got the rest back.

When I say chargeback, I mean go directly do your credit card company.

I am guessing you had an entire CAB shipped for the $175?  The 4x remark likely comes from an estimate of what shipping would be for a control panel only...which shouldn't cost much more than $40-$50 to ship tops.

since the majority of this thread is about being ripped off by SlikStik, I'd assume paying extra for shipping is still better than paying the right amount for the control panel that never arrived... so i guess they over paid for air, yet you guys want to discuss my cp shipping costs? I would like to add that I have shipped things I sold on ebay, and i have never been able to ship anything from the westcoast to the eastcoast for 40 bucks that was as heavy as a quad controller with all the joys/trackball/etc... but that's just me.. not a shipping pro.

Yes, but then they couldn;t use paypal, or as soon as a deposit was made (sale) i'd get the money, right? That's what I did a few years back to a guy who ripped me off. i won the dispute, then a long time later i got the money so he could use paypal again.
