Ouch! Gotta hate those beef injections!

I'm curious if anybody has been totally screwed by Slikstik and never received the product that they paid for. Delays and credit card payment cancellations do not count.

One would think that if it were only trackballs that were holding up a panel, you'd get the rest of the panel complete, set it aside and wait for the next shipment from Happ. (Or order from Divemaster or Ponyboy who seemed to not be affected by the 'shortage'.) Then when the balls came in, slap them in (we all know how long it takes to connect up a trackball), package everything up, and ship them on their merry way.

Another thing might be to not accept new orders if you are that far behind. Be upfront with your customers and they tend to be happier and more understanding.

Yeah, sounds like the trackball issue was "caca" after all. Even if they did have an actual shortage, couldn't they have been upfront and let the customers know about the shortage and ask them if they wanted a substitute such as a Groovy Game Gear Trackball instead of the Happ?

Either way, the real reason their are delays (assuming you ordered and overlay) is because they have officially discontinued the overlays on their control panels. Exact quote from an e-mail, "... we currently discontinued them do to printer problems". (I had inquired about pricing)

And I checked their website, they still have the option of adding the overlay option onto your control panel! They have not removed it. So basically, you can still order it with the automated process and then... you guessed it, delays.

My opinion: If they just hired ONE person who was dedicated solely to customer service and was able to at the minimum answer all e-mails, it would make a HUGE difference. The main reason that swayed me to switch to Arcades R Fun for example is not only the quality and better price, but most importantly customer service and support. You just feel right when Jack answers your e-mails. You feel that you are getting an honest opinion and that he's not in it for the money.

Feels different with SlikStik... a shame.

I agree with you there.. I ordered mine with an overlay. So I called me credit card company today and ask if there was anything I can do.. they said that it was after there 115 day policy, So I missed getting it reversed by 2 days.. So I guess I will continue email bombing them till i get an answer...

Look guys! as I've always said on here. DON'T GIVE HIM MONEY!!! I'm very sorry that you guys who ordered from him are getting burnt like this, but to be honest, he's been at this game for the last few years. His customer service stinks. The number of complaints about him has always been huge. This forum is absolutely full of tales like this and STILL you guys keep giving him money. I dispair!

I too noticed the first thread got set to hell in a hand basket. But to update all on my experience with Slik Stick. I have never received a response from Christian about the extra $2,145.00 he got by having my bank reverse charges. However the money was returned in prearbitration about 3 weeks ago or so. So even though I did get my money returned it was not on part of cooperation from Slik Stik. As for the controller. Except for the missing pinball buttons that were suppose to be installed with the rest of the customisations and the fact I ordered it in April and didn't get it until August, its a good controller for all the games played on it.

I just got off the phone with Eilleen at Slikstik (yes I actually got a real person) And My Panel is shipping TODAY!!!!.. I also just received the tracking number by e-mail.. So I will track this... I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel..

If you REALLY want to light a fire under them, file a ripoff report and they'll respond right away. Companies will do anything to get a person to edit their complaints on that site since ripoff report ranks so well on search rankings. I work in search engine optimization and companies are always asking me how to deal with those ripoff report listings in the search results.

Yes thier was a trackball problem, even happ will tell you
and now they are having problems with overlays,
if you have an overlay on yur order you may want to scratch that part. thats prob holding your panel up.
but either way, as said in another post above, they do answer the phone, i guess u just have to know when to call,
but after speaking with chris for about 20mins it seems as things are picking back up, and trust me he is jus as anxoius to get the panels out as you are to receive them.

and jus to set the record, they are not going out of business, they are not filing bankruptcy or any crap like that, so every1 saying they got scammed and ripped off, chill. everyone who ordered a panel from them knew --BINGO! Either that, or I was attempting to say "before" but it was too many letters to type-- hand it would take a few months, as it is indicated on thier website, yes they ran into sum delays, as you can see you can no longer order overlays on thier site, you cant add them to a CP anymore.

to Chrismcd, Glad to hear, please post some pics in a new thread when it arrives, i would love to see the work.

Before you go about telling people to shut the **** up, I'd get to know the history of things around here first. MANY people have been burned some way or another by Slik Stik's antics, and it hasn't just been recently. When I went to order my spinner from them (about two years ago), I was warned repeatedly not to do so because so many people were having troubles at the time. It was the same issue then, just attached to a different excuse. This isn't an isolated issue or just a trend, it's the reality of dealing with Slik Stik. They don't give a crap about the customer, that much is clear. Sure, the product may be nice, but it's not worth the hassle when guys on this board (Timoe, Knievel, Kaytrim, etc.) are doing work that's just as good as what Slik Stik produces.

and i also read alot of other places, that have had no problems, i even kno a few ppl that havent had any problems ordering from them.

Unfortunately, you really don't have a clue here - you know why the overlays aren't being shipped? Because SlikStik isn't paying the supplier! They owe me quite a bit of money as well for ads, and after a year of waiting, I sent them to a collection agency -- they promised the agency they would pay, then Christian promptly disconnected his cell phone and got a new number.

There's no way this is an ethical business practice, and unless a miracle happens I'm afraid things are only going to get worse...

and as said i myself am waitin on a CP from them too at the current moment,

If you want to be taken seriously...in anything you do in life...you are going to need to SERIOUSLY consider taking the extra time it takes to construct a legible, even SEMI-coherent message. Nobody takes anyone serious who constructs message in the fashion you do. This isn't a cell phone... at least demonstrate a semblance of competency and it's amazing how many people will show you respect.

Exactly right ... you are just a customer and apparently don't know as much as you think you do (including about why the last thread got sent away). Your "sayin it isnt so" ain't getting anybody what they deserve. If people aren't getting their stuff and they have been billed and the charges are past refund period and nobody answers the phones or emails, then YES, people are being scammed.

Once upon a time I ordered some things from SS and got them in a nice timely fashion and was very happy (so I'm one of those 'ppl' you talk about who has never had a problem ordering from SS). Then I started seeing stuff about them here, on other boards and on Usenet. Then I saw Christian's responses and decided that, based solely on his attitude, I would never order from them again.

Then I got to know some of the folks that have been dealing with SS for a while and learned more than you can find in the public forums. Kev isn't alone in not getting paid and the people in these threads aren't alone in not getting their stuff. And none of this is new (as so many people have pointed out).

at some points i kno the opened my email cuz they clicked the link to my website, and it was tracked from their mail server but i didnt get a respond email. but call them befor 11am and they pick the phone up

Thanks for the comment on the game room. You appear to have to decent hacking skills (or is that skillz?) from what I see on your website...if only those skillz translated to how you communicate.

PS: I think the reason you are getting so many folks giving you a hard time (aside from your really cheezy '1337' speak)...is that you told everyone to shut the ---fudgesicle--- up. Sure...you said it politely...but I think it was the message, not the delivery, that folks are having issue with.

I'm not saying they got any points for not responding to my emails, (I corrected the spelling it should have been "At some points") infact it pissed me off big time.
but after talking with them by phone things went much better, and my order is actually getting done and being shipped out soon

If you'd care to point out the misinformation it would help. Basically, there are a lot of people here who cannot get in touch with Slik Stik, either by phone or email, and some have been waiting many, many months for their control panels.

I wasn't going to respond to this since I didn't order from them. But, I was going to order from them. If not for this thread then my money would be tied up for months waiting on an item I could get elsewhere much quicker. I decided to order from Jack at ArcadesRfun. He has answered all my emails and has been very cordial. Fact is what Slik Stik is doing is considered fraud. Ask the Better Business Bureau. It's an unethical way of conducting business. You say they answered your phone call and email. They should have posted a blanket email here which would've answered many of peoples questions. How is it that the other "Builders" are capable of getting their product out without all the delays but Slik Stik can't. Why is it that all the other "Builders are quick to respond to questions but Slik Stik can't.The only probable reason is they don't care about the customer.

You see this thread as slamming Slik Stik and as trying to give them a bad rap. We see it as a thread to give our friends and peers informative information so they will not get ripped off. Obviously Slik Stik doesn't care or they would've responded here and on 5 or 6 other boards I frequent. Now, I don't know about you but I'm happy when people give me their opinion. And I'm glad people tell me that a vendor hasn't responded to inquirys for over 2 months. I'm sorry, but anyone who will defend a business after all the "horror" stories we are hearing then that individual has a different agenda.
