Although my SlikStik CP has been delayed, my dealings with SlikStik have been completely professional. They have offered to make substitutions in order to expedite things.

It's to string you along. You might eventually get your product, but not after many delays, broken promises, and lots of nagging from your end. I hope you are one of the lucky ones and things go well, but don't allow yourself to be sweet talked into being overly forgiving each time they delay your order.

I'll be contacting my bank tomorrow to have the charge reversed. As everyone pretty much predicted, my last e-mail went unanswered and my patience is exhausted.

In the future, I'll definitely be looking here on BYOAC to find someone to do the work for me that can stick to some sort of time frame.

Just email them with the words "FULL REFUND" in the subject line. They will respond and when they do, ask for a hard, no ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- date when they will ship with a tracking #. Tell them you want a full refund on that date (if you agree to the date) if your product doesn't ship. If they don't ship, ask for a refund from your bank. Tell SS you are going to do this. This is the only way I got my setup, of course my bank still ended up reversing the charges and now SS has to fight my bank for their money. Not really my problem at this point as I forwarded all the details to my bank and explained that they did ship my product months late. They just chose to fight them themselves.

At the end of the day, I really do like the panel, but the customer service sure did blow.

This is really shocking.

Usually I heard that people would EVENTUALLY get their product. But to not answer the forum or people's calls/pleas is incredible.

Perhaps they are going down, so sad.

Kevin Steele did so much for them with the video reviews, and to many of us, Slikstik was the premiere choice for arcade goodness.

I myself am very proud of my Slikstik and will probably forever rob the design if I ever make something similar.

Oh well, there is an end to everything, and they had a good run. But like alot of people on here have said, there is no excuse for bad service. The last order I got, the tone was very different then my past experience. I was thinking...Dude do you not remember the many conversations we had? To skirt around on a 20 dollar order is insane. I got it, but only after at least a dozen followups. They made good and gave me something, but in the end, I felt defeated and mad. It wasn't worth it and my next order went directly to ebay. No hassle and I got what I wanted.

Looks like they are starting to stiff people on ebay too. I just looked at their feedback and the last feedback is negative. The purchaser never received his order. I guess someone could check the court filings for NJ and see if they applied for bankruptcy. At least someone then might be able to go in and purchase their inventory or machinery they use at auction.

stuff that. just ask for the refund. ever day, no every HOUR delayed is more chance of getting nothing back at all. just focus on getting your money back and forget about the product. it doesnt exist...

Well, I don't know about that. They are a slooooooooooow company that is for sure, but many, many people have ordered from them and gotten their panels/cabs. What makes you think they are no longer around?

Probably because they haven't answered anybody's messages, At All! And they disked an ebay buyer also. Usually when that happens they either died or they are closing. If they are filing bankruptcy then it is in their best interest not to contact anybody until they have actually filed. If I had sent them 1000.00 I would be driving to their office or home and confronting them in person. I'd walk away with either my money or their own personal cabinet or panel. When you confront people face to face it's hard for them to be cutthroat and still give you nothing.

Wow I just sold my home built cabinet and was calling chris the last two days and no response. I love the way the slik stik cabinets look with the overlays. Anyone tell me what would be an alternative to slik stik. I have seen a bunch of the other pre fabed cabinets out there but none come close to the slikstik.

I did see http://www.jjscustomarcades.com/Quad.html which looks like slikstik controlpanels and I also saw http://arcadesrfun.com/ but hey use a LCD monitor which isnt what I am looking for.

I just ordered my control panel from ArcadesRfun. I think the quality will be as good if not better than Slikstik. And it was a little cheaper than slikstik in the end with my added options. Checkout Mameworld maybe for a cabinet. Plus email any of them with what you want. Building the cabinet is the easy part in my opinion.

I work with all of them and you really can't go wrong with any of the three, Jack, Rick or JJ, very honest, up front guys with top of the line products.

You may have a hard time finding individuals on this forum who have purchased full cabinets from them, since this is more of a DIY forum.

I would also check with JJ as far as CPs since he had been buying them from Slikstik. I am not sure if he is now getting them elsewhere, making his own or maybe he has a few in stock.

AFAIK the overlays that slikstik was using came from MameMarquees. You can customize any cab you want with just about the same look.

I still have yet gotten any response from them as well. I wish I didnt make the mistake using paypal to pay, I plan to complaign like hell to paypal for not helping with reversing the transaction. Its been since August and I havent gotten a single response since early September. Worst customer service ever..

Im debating whether to drive over there next weekend with my cousin and a few people to the actual location, I'm only about an hour and a half away from where I am in NY

I have bought a JJ Monster 33" and found it to be a great build. They use the mameroom designs, with the slikstik control panel. Very good with the communications and friendly. I would give them a huge thumbs up. I'm sure that they can do their own contorl panels. For a pre-built I found the little touches nice. (Casters, pull out drawer, concealed on/off switch, volume control)

I have also done business with arcades are fun. They did a control panel for me. They do a recessed trackball + they put plexiglass over the art. They were awesome in answering emails. The only problem I had with them was lighting my trackball. I had to do it myself because they were out of stock on their lighting kits. I was impatient and just had a friend install one for me. Great craftsmanship, nice and the price was great for what they did for me. Looking at how well they did the control panel, I am very confindent that they could build an awesome cabinet.

If you were looking for a compromise, get the cabinet from JJ and the control panel from Arcade are Fun.

I bought an arcade cabinet from Jack at ArcadesRFun last Christmas. It's been a great machine. A very fair price that included full cab and CP art and plexi cover; plus full customization and some other nice features; I've had a few minor performance / functionality issues here and there, and they've generally been pretty fast and responsive in addressing them.

I originally was going to get a cab and panel from slikstik in the summer but came across arcades r fun while waiting for slikstik to get back to me about shipping (I'm in canada) and decided to go with Jack and am soooooooooo glad I did. First, he responds quickly to emails. Second, he will customize a panel for you at no charge and he slaps on the plexi glass and your choice of art covering from mamemarquee. Third, the finished product (I just received mine this week) looks fantastic and it was CHEAPER than a similar panel would have been from slikstik and that is with me adding higher quality stuff/extras to the panel from Jack.

Man, after reading this thread I truly am so thankful slikstik decided answering my shipping question wasn't worth their time (this on an order that would have been over $2k) because if they did I'd have most likely bought form them and would most likely be waiting for something that may or may not ever show up.

Anyway, I recommend Jack/Arcades R Fun. I had a minor two week delay from when he first gave as my delivery date but meh, it wasn't a biggie because he delivered a great product.

For what it is worth I e-mailed Slik Stik this week with a question about the U360. They got back to me that same day. I realize this is not the same as a question on an order but I did think it was interesting they got back to me quickly.

I was asking about stainless steel pearl tops for the U360. They said they do not carry them. I like them based on the Retroblast review. Any idea where else I could find them for the U360?

I ordered from Slikstick in July and have yet to recieve my control panel. The last e-mail I got from them was 2 weeks ago. and I have not heard from them since.. I sent 3 e-mails a day to them since and no response...I am starting to lose my patience, and thinking of calling me credit card company to reverse the charge.

I ordered a control panel from SlikStik in early August. I had been giving them the benefit of the doubt but I am running out of benefit.

Their communication was adequate until I asked for an anticipated ship date. Now my requests for status updates go unanswered. They charged my credit card the day that I placed the order.

Color me disappointed.

i ordered a blank quad panel about 1 month ago. it arrived within 1 week. it may have actually been within 3 business days. i can't remember.

however, when i ordered... i made sure it was something they had in stock, on hand, ready to ship

custom cps seem take a long time i heard a couple people saying 1 - 2 months wait

i just wanted an empty box that i could fill with my own stuff asap

generic slikstik blank panel service = 2 thumbs up

custom service i duno if they are "managing expectations" appropriately

Well, to add insult to injury, I called my credit card company and was told they would not reverse the charges. Unlike most major banks, mine only has 60 day coverage for these kind of transactions and since (at the time) it was around 88 days, I was out of luck.

On SlikStik's end, still no response to my e-mails and all I get at the phone number is an answering machine.

My bank suggested I go through the Better Business Bureau, so I went online and submitted all the required info to them. Just waiting for a response back although since the BBB can't do anything to compel vendors to offer refunds, I'll probably be waiting another month with no response. At that point, though, my last option is a lawsuit, which I hate doing (courts here in the U.S. are clogged with frivolous lawsuits), but I'm so soured on this whole experience that all I want is a refund.

On the plus side, I've decided to order a blank panel (probably from ArcadesRFun), plus all the other parts, and do the work myself. I'm actually kind of excited about it!

It takes about $25 and an hour of your time to file a small-claims lawsuit. If anything, perhaps it will spurr their asses to refund you in a more timely fashion?

I thought the 90 days rule was universal?!

its pretty lame how they are keeping such a terrible balance between business development (doesn't ever stop:)), production (good quality but slow), project management (bad) and client relationship management (worse). i wonder how many people work at slikstik. they could use someone who is just the 'customer rep' and manages schedules.

So I am thinking Ponzi scheme sounds about right in this case. That is very scary that they forget about their paying clients as soon as money in hand, but respond immediately at the thought of stealing more money.

They Told Me 2 weeks ago that the trackball shortage was the reason for my delay. So I say if they have them in stock then why has my control panel not shipped yet...
