.187 Quick Connects in Canada?
« on: May 05, 2003, 12:04:57 am »
Anyone had any luck finding these in Canada (Toronto, specifically) ?

I've checked Canadian Tire and Walmart Auto section - so far no luck.  The Canadian Tire had them in packs of 5 for $5 or something.  Need to find them in packs of 50 or 100.

Will check Radio Shack tomorrow, but based on messages I've read on this board they will need to be special ordered.

I finally got the basic structure of the cab put together and I'm ready to wire this baby!

Any electronics supply store should be able to supply you.  I have not lived in TO for years but used to go to Electro Sonic  for alot of stuff.    I think there may also be an Active or Future electronics.  Cannot think of anymore but look in the yellow pages under Electronic Equipment and Supplies.

I went to an electronics supply store myself.
I'm in Hamilton, theres an AMAZING one there. I picked up my wire, quick connectors and db-25 connectors there. All very cheap.

An electronics supply store is definitely what you want.

Try Active.  They carry them.

Thanks for the link!  I'll leave work a few minutes early tomorrow and check out the store in Mississauga.

Try Home Depot, the one near me has them in packs of 50 for like $5.   ;)

It's a small local distro, I thought they might have more outlets nationwide, but they told me no, plus they wouldn't tell me where THEY get their bolts from (surprise surprise), so I guess I can't!   :-\ Now if you need some, I have lots extra, and can sell some, until I get my online store up and runnin  ;)

Oh and I'm not all powerful, you should see the purple lump where my knee used to be after a cabinet pinned it against some stairs!!

London isn't it? I'm in Hamilton myself but I pass though there to see my folks in Strathroy once in a while. Oh well, i'll just have to hit the yellow pages.  :D At least I know its there. I could also buy them from you as well. Wouldn't hurt to help finance those great projects!  ;)

Hi there, I think I missed a previous thread...which bolts are they that you are talking about?  What is special about them?

Thanks!

Nothing terribly special about them, it's just that the smallest carriage bolts that Home Depot (and many stores) carries is 1/4". Those are just a little big looking in arcade applications. It's nicer to have the smaller sizes if you can find them.

Home Depot only has the .250 size.  I finally found an electonics store that has the .187 - 100 for $9 CDN.  The store is called A1 Electronics and its actually right across the street from Starburst on Kipling in Etobicoke.
