WTB: steering spring for SW yoke
« on: October 14, 2007, 05:40:08 pm »
anyone have a spare?  The one I need is for the left/right (x) axis - goes in the back of the unit.  I know I could order from RAM controls but it looks like it would cost me a bunch, and looks like they have higher priorities right now.

lemme know.  Thanks!
MRH

I am sure it has been brought up before, and I could look at my Roadblasters and SW yokes for the answer BUT...i am here at the moment so i shall ask.....since it is left/right does the Roadblasters use the same spring? If so. i may have a few.

I believe the springs would be the same for the Roadblasters.  Let me know if you find a spare.  Thanks!

I also checked the manuals from Star Wars:
http://www.gamearchive.com/Video_Games/Manufacturers/Atari/onlinemanuals/starwars_op_manual.pdf
and RoadBlasters:
http://www.basementarcade.com/arcade/library/manuals/r/RoadBlasters.pdf

Both show the spring in question (x axis or "steering" spring) as being Atari part # 040239-01

so that is fairly conclusive evidence that they are interchangeable!  Yeay!
