Sound Cards
« on: October 07, 2007, 04:49:30 pm »
I need some help trying to find a sound card that doesn't have any white noise that you can hear when there is no music playing. Right now I'am using a soundblaster live(old, old card) and I want to eliminate the noise.

Thanks!

the closest answer would be any card without a built-in amplifier. use the "line out" instead of the "spkr out", or bypass the amp thru the jumpers. this turns the single output port from "spkr" to "line" out. set mixer volume of the card to only 50% to 70% and do the loudness controls at the amp side. if the noise persists, it could be the external amp you're using, or bad cables.

The white noise is coming from the sound card, I have already determined that.
