alright gents,
i am trying to power a pc psu without the use of a power switch,i have shorted the blue and green wires on the atx connector in the past which has worked on older type psu's but for some reason my new sata 20/24 atx supply will not power from this mod-does anyone know why?

Blue (pin 12) is -12V.  Try connecting green (pin 14) to black (GND).

Yup... always been a green (5v sense?) and black (ground) for me in the past.

Also, I believe it won't work without a load, so if you are trying to power it up with it not attached to anything, you need to connect a ceramic resistor as well to simulate a load (Useful for making a bench PS)
