Not my day for my Cabinet, problem with Jpac
« on: September 27, 2007, 01:41:34 pm »
Ok my cabinet works flawless all the time, I got a trackball today, works fine. I have a die hard cabinet with the coin slots on the CP, so I was hitting them when I used the trackball, No biggie, took them off. Everything was fine.

Came back 15 minutes later and my keyboard wouldnt work. Hmm. Reboot, doesnt work, neither does any of my control panel..

I hook the coin mechs up thinking that might do it and it didn't matter, same problem.

I check the JPAC troubleshooter for error codes, I get no errors at all, the jpac is booting fine according to it, all lights turn on when they should and no blinking lights when I turn it on.

I have checked my wiring and cannot find a loose wire anywhere on my control panel or Jpac.

Only thing I can tell you is when I hit a key on the CP or the keyboard itself the Num lock, Caps lock and Scroll lock buttons Blink once then stop.

Any input would be helpful, I just want to play American Horseshoes :(

*Update* I tried going into WinIpac software and when I select "Program" it times out when reading to the card...

Have you tried banging on the side of it?

Well, he ain't no prize, and there's no women his size,
And that's why the cat's so mean"

The board will tell you if theres a connection error as far as buttons go and there isnt.

could it be dust somewhere? does plugging a keyboard into the keyboard port on the J-PAC work? plugging a keyboard into the PS/2 port on the MoBo?

i had a PC that wouldn't accept a mouse for some wierd reason, reinstalled windows and it worked, but i presume your using DOS............ i dunno  :dunno
