JAMMA and Trackballs
« on: September 23, 2007, 03:16:09 am »

Never tried to wire one in but does a Trackball just have the 4 wires which would be Up, Down, Left and Right?

Or I am missing something?

Are we having a funny today or do you really not know?   A trackball has 6 wires X1 x2 y1 y2 ground and 5V.  See Ultimarc link.

I thought for sure that in all your great cabs you had wired one up.

Everyday is a funny day  ;D

Never wired one in.

Black (2 wires)    Red (2 wires)    Purple    Blue    Yellow    Green
GND                         +5V                X1        X2           Y1    Y2

So the Purple, Blue, Yellow and Green is Up, down , left, right?  ???

Thanks

No they do not translate that way.  They are actually phase related signals that indicate which way the trackball is spinning on the axis.
