« on: September 19, 2007, 01:36:58 pm »
hey i love arcade os and wouldn't change it, BUT i want to do the following

change the sounds to some full quality .wav's but when i do arcade os doesn't load.
add a background picture
if possible change the colour of the the menu like change the highlight colour etc
create a custom list of roms and have ARCADE OS boot to it everytime

if anyone knows how to do any of that if they could let me know taht would be great thanks

You can change the colors, there are several options in the menu to do so.

You can display screenshots, but not a set background image.

As for the wav files, tell me more about the ones you're using, eg 22050, 44100, whatever.

Sorry if the idea is a bit... cheap. But do the sounds you want to use have to be 352kbps 8bit Stereo PCM 22hz? Why not try to convert the sounds into the Arcade OS 176kbps 8bit Mono PCM 22hz and see if this works. If it does - then you know the cause (unsupported sound format). : )

well they were 16bit and a lot higher everything but i lowered them to 8bit and it sounds tacky now ! mono would be even worse !
