Joystick Reccomendations
« on: September 19, 2007, 01:56:10 am »
I know this has been done before, but there ae tons of posts and I needed some clarification.

I'm going with Happ Supers (based on price and original Street Fighter joystick feel)

I need a 4way also, now what can I use for this? I've heard about a Nintendo 4 way, what others are recommended?

Also, what about scrapping the Happ Supers and 4 way and just going with an Omnistick 4/8 way switchable? Is that a better alternative, or are the Happ Supers the one joystick that I can't do without?

I've considered the ultimarc 360, but want to look elsewhere due to price and also due to the loose or open feel these joysticks have on games like street fighter.

Opinions please!

If you go with Supers, the best 4-way match will be the Happ Ms. Pac/Galaga Reunion stick.  It's basically a Super with 4-way restriction, plus a red balltop handle.

I was under the impression that most Street Fighter players preferred Competitions over Supers, but I could be wrong there- I'm not much of a fighter game player.  I do know that a lot of them prefer Japanese joysticks (Sanwa, Semitsu) over any of the Happ products.  Most models of these come with an adjustable restrictor plate, so you can buy three of the same stick and set two up for 8-way and one for 4-way.
