I have a KLAX arcade console machine that was working fine...until it was accidently left on for 72 hours. There was "fog" in the basement one day where the console is...I originally thought it was smoke and where there is smoke there is (usually) fire. However, when I opened up the back of the console, there was no fire. Nothing even looked "burnt".
I let the machine "cool off" for 48 hours. When I plugged it back in, everything seemed to work fine...except there was nothing displayed on the screen. The sounds, controls, everything else works fine, just no screen.
I then figured that the tube had blown, but when I posted this message on another forum, it was suggested that it wasn't my tube but rather my chasis. After submitting the label information from the tube & chasis, I was told I have the following chasis...
"Wells 7900 series chassis"
I guess my question is, does anyone know how I should fix this chasis? Does it sound like something small, like a sauder point perhaps just overheated and loostened (wishful thinking...but I am trying to keep my hopes up) or do you think it's something more serious (ie. I have to FIND and replace the tube and/or chasis). I need an analysis from an expert.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I miss my KLAX! Thanks.
