Drilling da Lexan..

Hmmm..sounds dirty... ;D

Is the usual recommended method to mount the Lexan (groan) and drill it (ugh) while its attached to the MDF?

ie: secure lexan to control surface....drill four holes through lexan and down through MDF for securing carriage bolts, then secure carriage bolts, then apply templates to top of plexi and THEN drill your joystick/button holes all at once?

I can just use my standard DeWalt or Black n Decker wood bits for this task yes???

Obviously I figured I'd ask before I decide to go the lexan route...otherwise its just gonna be contact paper, and I'd hate to have that stuff tear or rub off (but I know its pretty durable stuff).....

For drilling buttons, I ued the same 1-1/8" hole cutting bit as for wood, normal drill speed. I center punched the holes to start, so  Ihad a spot for the drill to center on(don't try this with plexi- shatter city). Used some spring clamps to around the edges to hold the lexan against a scrap CP piece I had. I did leave the protective backing on to minimize the risk of incidental scratching casualties

Nothing too unusual to work with

Oh I also used a spade bit for a 3/4"(?) hole, for my start buttons. THat drilled easy, same as the rest.
