Vertical or Horizontal mounting

Ive aquired a cabinet that originally had the monitor horizontal, with a mirror at 45 degrees reflecting the picture.

Has anyone tried this in mame, or would I be better off just mounting the monitor vertically (or slightly off) ?

Mounting it horizontally would lower the CoG of the cabinet considerably, adding to stability though.
