Hello. I am new to the arcade/mame world. I should have mention that I ordered the classic gaming controller - $575 with shipping. I was told that the slikstik joysticks were very nice. I purchased a cabinet from mameroom.com in early July. I talked with Scott (great cabinet by the way!!) and he said that slikstik has nice controls. I contacted slikstik and asked what the delivery time for the joystick would be. I was told 2-3 weeks since they were not very busy and I am sure they wanted to make the sale!! I waited 3 weeks and then sent an email and called - NO response! I assumed that when I was told 2-3 weeks they would deliver on what I was told! I then started to send more emails and daily calls at week 5. I finally got ahold of a person on the phone - wow!! He said that the trackballs had been backordered but of course nobody called or emailed me - very poor communication considering I HAVE PAID already. He told me I should have the product the next week. I made the mistake of Paying with a paypal transfer from my bank account instead of a credit card. Paypal will not help you if you have not filed a claim within 45 days(lesson learned, never pay with paypal!!) We are way past 45 days!! I started really getting angry at week 7 and some of my emails were not nice - but still very fair. The response to me was they will get the controller to me when they get it to me - horrible service. Because I was mad, they called me arrogant. They finally sent me an email saying they will refund the money but have not done so yet. I did comment in one of my emails which said they had very bad service and there are other builders of joysticks, I was told that they are the best period and everyone else just copies them - who is arrogant?? I have asked them to call me in every email I have sent - They will not call and hide behind email and do not answer their phone. I look in the Better Business website and found someone else has filed a claim/complaint on Sept 7, 2007 but I can not find much info about slikstik on the state of NJ website. Maybe I am not doing the search properly but I do not think this is the real business name. I have done a who-is search and found another comany name that owns the website. I have contacted the State Attorney General for NJ and received forms I need to fill out to file a formal complaint and request an investigation since they refuse to refund my money and have provided no product after 2 long months.
To be fair, I received an email over the last weekend saying that I will get a refund on Tuesday(sept 11th). We will see, but I have my doubts. The purpose of my original post was to let eveyone know that something funny is going on with slikstik.com. I am glad some of you have received a great product from them - I however feel waiting this long should not happen and feel like I have been cheated - Would you feel the same??
I have all of the emails from slikstik and will provide everything if anyone would like to see before purchasing from this company.
This has been my experience and all I want is my MONEY back - I will continue to post what I find (and if I need to file the paperwork with the state of NJ) and if I receive the refund I will state that as well. I have every right to express my concerns on this forum - the same as all of you.
How would you feel if you paid almost $600 for a product and never received the product or a refund after more than 8 weeks - original purchase in the first week of July. Any thoughts or suggestions?
