'Enter' button on KeyWiz?
« on: September 06, 2007, 12:30:23 pm »
On my CP, I dont have a dedicated 'Enter' button (admin buttons are "QUIT", "MENU" and "PAUSE").

What sort of button can I map to ENTER, but not have it interfere with the game when playing?

Thanks!

What frontend are you using.  You can generally assign any button to enter/select game.  I have mine set to player1_button1.  Having a dedicated "enter" is not necessary.

If you are deadset on assigning a button to "enter", then just make sure there are no buttons in mame that use enter as a command.  Even if you are smashing enter over and over, it won't matter to mame.

If you're talking about mame's "enter", think "mame's UI_Select".  Hotrod, xarcade & others map player1 button1 to UI_Select, and don't have a button outputing a keyboard enter.

Edit: As Green said, FEs are a little different, but might be treated the same.

I have a dedicated shazam (shift) button on my cp.  On mine shazam + player1 button 0 is enter.  If you don't want to put another admin button on top of the cp maybe you could hide one and wire it up to shazam?  Or you could try one of these shazam adapters http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76_80&products_id=203

That's how mine works  shazzam and PLY1 button 1.

I am running dual Keywiz's in my 4 player setup. LOTS of buttons on that sucker!
Where can I find info about setting up the shazaam features?

If you are going to have a dedicated shazam button it is wired like every other button you have.  Then you can set the shazam key definitions in the keywiz uploader.  There are some advanced wiring guides on the groovygame gear site.  I would start there. http://groovygamegear.com/page13.html
