rotary joytsic interface
« on: September 03, 2007, 08:38:56 am »
Gday all

I have a heavy barrell machine with rotary joysticks.
I have been running mame on it for years without using the rotary joysticks in mame.

I recently decided to use them in mame and bought a rotary joystick interface from Ultimarc.

It works very simply, it generates the keystroke mame needs for the rotate function. ie [ and ] for 1 player.

Anyway I cant get it to work in mame.  I have checked that the correct keystrokes are set in mame.  If I push the [ or ] buttons on my keyboard in mame the rotary function works.

But the interface doesnt work.  I opened a text document and tested the interface there. I get the correct keystrokes in Notepad.

I really cant figure out why it wont work in mame.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

I do not have a rotary interface, but the best person to ask is Andy at Ultimarc. You can find his email on his website:
http://www.ultimarc.com/contact.html
He has been very helpful with anything I have purchased from him in the past.

I have a working Heavy Barrel machine that I think I am going to Mame just for Rotary Games. I was wondering, what did you use to Mame your cab? Did you use the original monitor?
Thanks
Glenn
