Yeah, they were the best resource for monitor reviews around IMO. Wonder if the content could be handed over to someone else.

it's very sad... but there are talks of possibly Saint or someone archiving the old content for future reference.

Don't worry -- I'm making arrangements to make sure the content of RetroBlast finds a good home...somewhere really close. ;-)

I hated to do it, but I know it's the right decision. It's going to free me to devote more time to GameRoom, and since that's my business and livelyhood, I suppose it should get precedence.  ;)

Thanks to everyone here who visited RetroBlast, from those early days of "The MAMEframe Arcade Machine" until these final days. It's been a fun ride, but it's time for me to change cars...

I will be sad to see this site go as well. It's information is priceless. I don't think I would have ever set up my Betson Multisync as well with out it. Nor would I have made the decision to buy it for that matter.
My old user name was marlborroman13, but I kicked the habit many years ago!

Although I'm sad to see the site go, I hope it frees up some time for you to take some breaks and enjoy the finer things more... you know, like playing Galaga with an ice cold beverage   Also, best wishes for GRM.

Very sad as I too was really drawn into the hobby because of RetroBlast!

Kevin, I wish you many future successes with GameRoom magazine and whatever else you do in life. Thank you for your huge contribution to the scene.  I hope you still pop in here now and then because, if nothing else, you have the coolest avatar bar none!

let the toasting continue:   :cheers:

P.S. when are you going to publish your trackball review?  ;)

I am very sad too.

It is because of you Kevin that I actually made the arcade.   It was your reviews of Slikstik..rotaries...spinner...4 ways...trackball..etc that I am now set up with an awesome rig.

I will miss you and your site.   Take care, and I hope all is well for you in the future.

Like Lincoln(I think) said   "This too shall pass".    Everything must end, and seeing a site like this go after so long, it truly makes me thankful for the time I spent looking at your reviews.

A wonderful encyclopedia of knowledge.

Kev -- while I am sad to see RetroBlast go, I am more excited about what you've got going on with GameRoom. (BTW -- THANX -- I got my order of back issues yesterday ... just in time for some lazy long weekend reading on the dock!)

Everybody else -- make sure that you check out GameRoom.

Thanks for the efforts on Retroblast and keep up the great work on GameRoom Magazine.

Now I need to find a new source for arcade-related holiday giveaway contests!  :'(

Does this mean that those Retroblast/GameRoom tokens you gave away a while back are now going to be highly sought after collectibles?

Kevin,

It is sad to see Retroblast close it's doors.  If Saint does host the archives could you come back from time to time and add some new reviews?  The information that you had in those were priceless and I would like to see at least that part continue.

TTFN and get healthy,
Kaytrim

Kevin,
You are like my best friend, although I haven't met you. Hearing about your health pains me. I hope you get better soon, take the time to get better-we need you! I have enjoyed reading retroblast over the years. I was most excited when you bought gameroom magazine from Tim. You have done a great job on it, now you can just worry about that.

thanks, kevin, for your great and on-going contribution to the hobby.

yours was the first website i found when i became interested in retrogaming, and it had a strong influence over the system i eventually built. i especially appreciated the reviews you wrote.

although i'm sad to see the website go, i think you're making a wise decision. best wishes with your new focus!

maybe you can make time to do an occasional review article here, just for old time's sake . . .   ;)

None of this is more important than your health though. Take a break...  :applaud:
